Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of HiveMinded (the "Service"), provided by HiveMinded, Inc. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Account & family

You must be at least 13 years old to create a HiveMinded account yourself, and at least 18 to be the family administrator and accept billing. Where local law sets an age of digital consent higher than 13, that higher age applies to signing yourself up.

Children below that age do not create their own accounts. A parent or guardian may provision a login for a child from inside the family: the parent chooses a username and a PIN and affirms parental consent at the time. Logins created this way hold no email address and no phone number, and the parent can reset the PIN or remove the login at any point.

You're responsible for activity in your account and for keeping your credentials safe. A parent or guardian is responsible for any login they create for a child and for that child's use of the Service.

2. Subscription & billing

• HiveMinded offers a free 30-day Premium trial. No credit card is required to start the trial.
• If you choose a paid plan, you authorize us to charge the payment method you provide on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) until you cancel.
• Web subscriptions (purchased on hiveminded.app) are billed by HiveMinded, Inc. through our payment processor (Stripe). You can manage and cancel from Account → Subscription on the website.
• Mobile in-app subscriptions (purchased on iPhone, iPad, or Android) are billed by Apple or Google. To manage or cancel, use Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS, or Google Play → Subscriptions on Android. Refunds for mobile in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Failed payments on web subscriptions are retried on days 3, 7, and 14. After three consecutive failed attempts the subscription is canceled.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source code.
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.
• Upload illegal content or content that infringes others' rights.
• Spam, phish, or otherwise abuse the messaging features.
• Resell or sublicense the Service without our written consent.

4. User content

You retain ownership of the content you create in HiveMinded. You grant us a limited license to host, display, and process that content solely to provide the Service to you and your family.

5. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Data & Privacy → Delete My Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a security risk, with notice where reasonably practical.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. AI-generated content (meal ideas, suggestions, etc.) is for inspiration only and is not professional advice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HiveMinded, Inc. and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware.

9. App Store additional terms

Apple App Store: if you obtained the Service through the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and HiveMinded, Inc. — not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms, the Apple terms control with respect to your use of the Service on Apple devices. You acknowledge Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.

Google Play: if you obtained the Service through Google Play, these Terms are between you and HiveMinded, Inc. — not Google. Your use of the app is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. To the extent these Terms conflict with the Google Play Terms regarding the app's distribution, the Google Play Terms control.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email at least 7 days before they take effect.
